Trip to the Aquarium, she actually really liked it!

Health update

We visited Texas Children's Hospital last week and received some excellent news. After all the DNA testing on Beaux and myself they have come to the conclusion that I am not a carrier of OTC and therefore the deletion in his DNA was just a fluke deal. Another piece of great news is that Charlotte does not have the deletion or mutation in her DNA, which is a HUGE relief! So our little family will continue on with a healthy and beautiful baby girl, a healthy mommy, a relieved daddy and the memory of our sweet baby boy.

Since we got the clean bill of health it was on to bigger and better for Miss Lottie - RICE CEREAL!! YUM YUM!!

Getting Big!!

It seems as if over night Charlotte has grown a ton! We don't go back to the Doctor for another 3 weeks, but I am pretty sure she is around 15 lbs. She is starting to hold onto her toys, laugh out loud and chew on everything in sight. Teething is right around the corner! We have traveled a little bit more and even had our first hotel stay last weekend. She did great and slept wonderfully!

" I am 4 months old!"

Ivy follows us everywhere! Either really annoying or kinda cute...depends

Playtime - Ivy is never to far away!

Our first "trip" to Lost Pines Resort for John and Jamie's wedding!

Our newest skill - sitting up in our "bumbo". Gives me a free hand to actually get something done. Again, notice who is in the bottom corner of the picture...

Health update

Many people have recently asked how everything is going with me, Charlotte and the OTC. We have made some headway, but are still awaiting lots of important answers. After all Beaux's testing came back, the Genetics Department at Texas Childrens Hospital found that he did not have mutation in his DNA liked they had predicted, but instead it was a deletion in his DNA. This could lead us to some positive news, but it is still too early to tell. A deletion in the DNA could mean that his OTC was just a freak deal and I am not a carrier, therefore Charlotte would not be affected. I did my portion of the testing and blood work last Friday at Texas Childrens Hospital. It takes 4 weeks for the results...so more waiting...

What we are hoping and praying for (we hope you will include us in your prayers) is that I do not exhibit the deletion in my DNA. If I do then they will continue testing on me and Charlotte and see how she  and I are affected, modify diet and most likely start a regimen of medicine.

It is hard for me to conceptualize an illness when I for the most part have led a healthy life. I feel good, other than just being worn out from being a new mom. So for now more waiting.....

Long time, no entry

Computer has been broken so I have been unable to download pics recently...here is a little of what we have been up to.

We have been trying to enjoy this cooler weather in the evenings when Micah gets home. The pups even get to join. We usually enjoy an "adult beverage" and swing. Charlotte loves to be outside. Let's see how she likes it in another month or      so! The "porch time" will be turning into "pool time".

Micah and I went with some friends to Jimmy Buffet in Houston last week. Great people watching!! It was the first night I have spent away from Lottie. I survived and had a great time!

As you can see she was in good hands....

We had a relaxing Mother's Day. Went to church, Granny "T" came and we had a delicious dinner at The Heilker's House. It was a nice first Mother' Day had by all!
