Closer to Fall

There is actually a little bit of a breeze in the air and I can sense Fall right around the corner. With Fall comes spending a lot more time outside with out boiling in the heat, starting another school year (me not Charlotte...yet) and of course...FOOTBALL!

First longhorn football game...we did not actually go to the game, but watched in the A/C at home!
halftime cheer!

Happy Labor Day everyone!

7 months

My sweetie pie is 7 months and doing great! In the past month we had a lot of "firsts". First cold, first ear infection, first plane trip, first time to the beach, first time sitting up!

Helping dad with his fantasy football picks - get ready Lottie, it is going to
be a long Fall...

Let's Catch Up...

We have been on a vacation....I use the term "vacation" loosely! Somehow once you have a child the meaning changes quite a bit. Especially the no sleeping in part. I am ready for a vacation from my vacation. Even though it wasn't much rest for Micah and I we had a great time visiting "Grandpa and Grandbrew". They loved spending time with Charlotte and seeing how much she had changed.

"I'm Ready"

She loved the TV's on the back of every seat

Catching up on her shows

This is about as close to the beach as she like to be...not a big fan of the salt water. She is more of a pool girl!

On our way home - all tuckered out!

Half of a year!

It is so hard for me to believe that it has been 6 months since the babies were born. It is amazing how our lives have changed in so many ways in 6 months. Lots of great things and some horrible things have happened in half a year. All in all each moment has been a learning experience that has brought a new outlook on life and time.  Not a day goes by that I don't think about Beaux, but each day does feel a little bit easier and time is healing.

Everyone tells you that it flies by and that they change in a blink of an eye - it is so true!

6 months and almost 15 lbs.

Micah and Charlotte survived without me....I knew they would. I survived the girls weekend in Chicago...barely! We had a great time shopping, eating, drinking and lots of laughing. What a much needed trip and girly time.

Busy body!

Charlotte at 5 1/2 months

We have been busy with a busy baby... she seems to want to be on the move all the time. Whether it be by bouncer, swing, stroller, carrier or her favorite "human transport". She loves to be on the move, she is even tolerating the car more!

Sweet girl!

Nothing like a "cheap" toy that entertains for hours

I am going on a girls' trip to Chicago this weekend! Can't wait for some great food, great shopping and girly time. I am sure I will miss my sweet Charlotte...just a tad!

FATHER'S DAY
Micah & Charlotte with his special Father's Day request - A marble slab ice cream cake!

Charlotte also found time to go shopping and get him some mint julep cups that he had been asking for since the Spring. We have a huge mint plant that has been growing out of control..time to enjoy some mint juleps on the front porch...or better yet in a pool!

We have introduced apple sauce with her rice cereal and she LOVES it.....

On Mother's Day Micah had warned me that my gift had been ordered and that it would take some time for it to get here....I have been waiting very patiently and he finally picked it up today. It was well worth the wait!

He had a local pottery studio (Santa Rosa Pottery) make an urn for Beaux's ashes. I had been looking everywhere for something that I liked and was very frustrated that I could not find what I wanted. I gave up my search and was constantly feeling guilty that I had not found an appropriate place for his ashes. The search is over and it is absolutely beautiful. My favorite part is that it is unique and one of a kind. There is not and will never be another urn like it the entire world. Specially made just for him....

The butterfly has become our symbol for Beaux. We released monarch butterflies at his memorial service and we are pleased that they still flutter in our yard from time to time. We see them often and in the most random places. It is a quick reminder that he is here with us in spirit. I love that the artist incorporated them all around the urn.
